✦ About the Artist
Kanchan Verma is a Chandigarh-based freelance artist whose work spans painting, murals, and mixed media. With over two decades of devoted practice, her art is a deeply personal exploration of human emotion, feminine identity, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life.
Born in 1980, Kanchan pursued her passion for art with unwavering dedication — earning her BFA from the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu in 2006, followed by an MFA in Painting from the prestigious Government College of Art, Chandigarh in 2009.
Her work has been exhibited across India and internationally — from Jahangir Art Gallery in Mumbai to the India Habitat Centre in Delhi, and virtual galleries in Sydney and Kerala. She has been recognised with the Junior Fellowship by the Indian Ministry of Culture, the Rabindranath Tagore Scholarship by Chandigarh Lalit Kala, and numerous state and national awards.
Today, her works are held in several prestigious private and institutional collections — including the Kerala Lalit Kala Academy, the Chief Minister of J&K's private collection, and Art Illustrator Chennai.
